Omg congrats Meighan!! That is so so exciting and I love seeing how you’re evolving your style through pregnancy. You still look like you, just glowier!!
Congratulations! Been a silent reader and first time commenting because this is indeed joyful news. You look lovely in all your outfits - especially in the white bachelorette dress turned skirt! I was thinking that's a beautiful skirt you've managed to score in a maternity size!
I love it all. Go you. I thought bellies were disgusting my entire pregnancy but nothing we can do about them and they have minds of their own when it comes to shapes and sizes so just wear what feels right!
Christina, I'm cracking up. My sister who is 6 years younger than me is currently disgusted by my belly. Yesterday she said "at this time, it's freaking me out, please put it away." When I told her it was really not that bad right now, she informed me that she actually will be comfortable with it as it gets bigger. TBD if that's the case LOL
Omg I personally just felt like I looked borderline bloated/skinny fat for 35 weeks (my son was tiny), then “popped” and finally was like ok I’ve hit my stride! And then my son was born at 38 weeks and so began my flabby floppy post partum belly chronicles.
He’s 2 now and everything is fine! But what a ride. Wish I was a dad, LOL.
Congratulations on your joyful news! I've been following along since you were featured on The Purse, and find your perspective (on fashion and on life) so refreshing and fun. I hope you continue to feel a sense of creativity and play in the midst of this evolution of body and self!
Re: book recommendations, I'm midway through Screaming on the Inside, which was published the year my daughter was born (she just turned three!) and it's helping me reflect on some of the messages and expectations I've internalized about motherhood in the age of the internet and social media.
For a great novel, I recommend Playworld (long but so vivid and compelling) or Search (a book about a Unitarian Universalist church committee trying to find a new minister for their church--I found the entire story so human and and memorable).
Thank you so much Sarah!!! This makes me heart so happy <3
Also these book recs are perfect, I am adding them all to my goodreads. So far, I've only read Hunt Gather Parent, which I took with a grain of a salt but loved. It sounds like Screaming on the Inside will be in line with the type of information I am open to reading :)
Congratulations!! Relatively new reader, first time commenter here -- I found your newsletter recently as I was seeking inspiration for office outfits and have loved following your weekly office outfit recaps.
Also always impressed with anyone going to the office while very pregnant; I was pregnant during covid so we hadn't returned to office yet and I have no idea how anyone does it because I was so TIRED! Excited for you and I am sure you will have fun maternity office outfits too!
Nisha! Welcome!!!! And honestly, same. I was not sick during my first trimester and I truly could not even imagine all of the women who go into an office and have to deal with that. I considered myself VERY lucky, they are the bravest soldiers!!!
Thank you Sarah!!!! It felt like a good unlock - a lot of my dresses have bigger sleeves but the idea that some could double seamlessly as skirts is a good spring hack
Congratulations Meighan - such happy news 💕 I love your outfits and am even more impressed you’ve been navigating an adorable bump. They’re so chic but also varied, which is something I’m realizing my outfits are…not. You’ve inspired me to mix it up a bit more!
I love seeing your work outfits, they give me inspiration for my 4 day in office schedule. I'm about 21 weeks pregnant and have been feeling very meh about what to wear, but this gets me inspired again! I wore all black with a red beaded necklace today 😂🤗 thank you for sharing!
we are in this together, Parul!!! it's seriously hard, and googling "work outfits when pregnant" gives me NOTHING. hopefully we can create some inspo of our own! if you find anything you love, please LMK!
Eeee!! Congratulations Meighan, so happy for you and baby girl! You had so many outfits that really hit for me!! That all-black outfit is always a winner for me. Your Saturday outfit with the pink pants and beige sweater is so very good!
