Guys! I took PTO!!! My husband and I went to Jamaica for what was essentially 3.5 days. It was lovely and a perfect time to get away as New England is regressing back to winter weather in April.
Though I was excited to dive into my bin of summer clothes, I am a type-A efficient packer at heart. I hate overpacking and quite literally cannot, when 1/4 of my suitcase was being dedicated to 7 different bottles of sunscreen anyways. So when thinking about what I would need, I mapped out my days:
Wednesday: airport outfit, bathing suit, casual dinner outfit
Thursday/Friday/Saturday: bathing suit/cover up, dinner outfit
Sunday: airport outfit
Gym: swimsuit/goggles/cap for swimming laps + 2 workout sets + 1 tennis dress
Here’s what I packed:
Clothes: Old Navy gingham top/bottom, Target green top/bottom, Solid & Striped black top/bottom, pink sarong, Farm Rio fish dress, Solid & Striped black dress, girlfriend workout top, girlfriend workout shorts, Target tennis dress
Accessories: Amazon rayban dupes, WP wayfarer sunglasses, WP round sunglasses, plastic Birks, Target H sandal dupes, Ancient Greek black sandals, Free People baseball hat, Denim by Murph custom bucket hat, Zara flower earrings, J.Crew silver earrings, Lizzie Fortunado gold/pearl coin earrings, Cotopaxi fanny pack, sneakers
Here’s what I actually wore during the day:
For the beach, I brought 4 bikinis, 1 one piece, 2 sarongs and 2 button downs. Honestly, I wanted options depending on how I was feeling about A) my body B) my sun exposure each day. Luckily, these all folded easily into 1 packing cube so I didn’t mind having more than necessary.
I’m proud of my pack, I wore 4/5 bathing suits and all of the rest of the daytime items that I brought. Of course, I forgot to take any photos before we sprinted to reserve beach chairs at 8 AM, but I have 2 of my daytime outfits IRL below:
I originally bought this gingham bikini from Good American in the Shopbop sale but when it came, it was so oddly shaped and sized I immediately sent it back. Instead, I got this one from Old Navy at like 10% of the price - HUGE WIN! I paired it with a linen button down from Zara and a ruffle skirt that is +5 years old, stained, and therefore perfect for the beach. Then, pretty much every day I wore this packable hat from Abercrombie and my plastic Birkenstocks.
This shirt is “new” from TRR - I love it! SEA NY is normally out of my price range but I saved a ton getting it secondhand. I wore this very simple outfit to go watch March Madness in the pouring rain. Go Gators!
Here’s what I actually wore at night:
The restaurants at the resort were pretty casual, but I enjoyed getting a little more dressed up each night. Once again, proud of my pack here! I happily wore all of the outfits I brought, and repeated shoes/bags while rotating earrings - a nice way to change things up when trying to pack light. I was so excited to wear my fish dress on our last night, a favorite purchase from last summer! 3/4 of these outfits IRL are below:
Beach Reads!
Fourth Wing & Iron Flame: DEVOURED, so good wow
Pale People Things!
I got these pills from my dermatologist years ago, and I swear by them when I am in extreme UV. I get heat rash on my feet and hands usually, so these really help to keep that at bay.
Sunscreen picks for the week were Elta MD face sunscreen and Supergoop! Play Everyday Sunscreen. One is tinted, one is not, they are interchangeable to me in that way.
If you don’t care about my mini vacation, I don’t blame you and I will be back with office outfits next week!!! Sorry to everyone who hates the bathroom selfies, the only full length mirror in the resort was once again in front of the toilet!!! OK BYE!!!
I’m screaming!!!!! I LOVE vacation lewks and you did not disappoint; what fabulous dinner dresses you packed. Also, I spent an ungodly amount on a gingham bikini during a winter sale but where was this Old Navy one when I needed it?!
Fish dress was made for you!
