Hi hi! Welcome back to another corporate office outfit diary! This week, color reentered my wardrobe. I am also getting an assist from a Rent the Runway subscription this month. However, I am remembering why I never continue trialing more than 2 months, as nothing is available on the app 🙄
I will say that having access to a few more pairs of elastic-waisted bottoms has been nice. Buying new pants has been a mental struggle and I haven’t found anything I like enough to purchase outright. So, for now, this works!
Lastly, thank you for all of your wonderful comments on my past 2 posts. I was kind of worried to break the news on this space, so they made me feel a lot better ♥️
Let’s see what we left the house in…
Tuesday 5/27

Monday night game plan: my mom is kindly letting me borrow two of her slip skirts to wear to the office going forward. I am going to wear the black and white polka dot one tomorrow, with a fitted black top from Abercrombie and silver Aeyde kitten heels.
Tuesday morning: having already picked my outfit out, I reward myself five extra minutes in bed. Normally, I am not a slip skirt person because the length on my legs is usually wrong (they cut off my calves weird, tall people problems) but they work over the bump so I’m going to lean in for the time being.
Wednesday 5/28
Tuesday night game plan: after receiving the same 50% off code from Rent the Runway for the last few months, I decided to take advantage as I have a few weddings coming up as well. In my order, I got a purple nylon Tibi skirt that feels like a neutral, but not in my usual color palette. I have an idea of how I want to wear it tomorrow, but will finalize in the morning.
Wednesday morning: starting with the grape colored skirt, I pull out a crêpe shell top from J.Crew that is probably 10 years old. It is somewhere between pink and purple so it pairs nicely. I grab brown ballet flats to ground it and a pair of tortoiseshell earrings to bring the brown in a different way. All in all this is a great skirt whether you are pregnant or not, and I’m sure you’re gonna see it in the rotation for the next few weeks.
PS - if you similarly have some summer events coming up and want 60% off a month of RTR, here’s a link :)
Thursday 5/29
Wednesday night game plan: zero! working from home tomorrow since I have 2 doctor’s appointments.
Thursday morning: I start today at the endocrinologist and will end the day at my OB. Work will happen somewhere in the middle. These vintage men’s jeans from the Gap have been a go-to for me as they sit perfectly under the bump. Right now, they even slide above it when I’m sitting, which makes them that much more comfortable. It’s rainy and a bit chilly, but always hot in the doctor’s office, so I wear an old cotton t from J.Crew (they don’t make this style anymore and it’s devastating) underneath a pink cardigan from Sezane. These Nike blazers have made their way back into the rotation because of all of the recent rain, and I’m not mad about it at all. This is why we all have issues throwing things out lol
Friday 5/30

Thursday night game plan: I am in the office tomorrow and it’s once again going to be grey and drizzly. I lay out the pink silk pants I’m renting with a grey cardigan and thrifted snakeskin kitten heels (similar). In my mind, it will work, so I go to bed after a fantastic Knicks W.
Friday morning: I put on the outfit I laid out and the cardigan looks bad. Can I be honest? I’m more thrown off right now by the new size of my boobs than the bump!!! So instead, I put on a navy short sleeve sweater and try the “scarf around my waist” trend that I’ve been seeing everywhere. I cannot understand how people pull this off, and feel ridiculous. At the buzzer, I end up in an old silk top from Theory, a navy sweater around my shoulders and nude heels to round it out, because I am basically wearing glorified pajamas. I will not wear this combination again but TGIF!!!
Weekend!!!

After my husband sailed on Friday night, I met him for a BBQ. I believe this color combo is a direct steal from
or or both! It was SO fun and I never would’ve put these 2 colors together myself, so shoutout to Substack fashion mothers. I wore this to dinner at the beach on Sunday too, an easy outfit repeat! Sweater is Abercrombie, pants are J.Crew, sandals are Target, earrings are Lizzie Fortunado and bag is thrifted!Mentions of the week
Life saver during this week of skirts? This chafing stick that fur sent me. I guess they normally do body hair products, which tbh didn’t appeal to me when they first messaged - but the chafing stick is going to be an essential this summer. They gave me a code for 15% off if anyone else is looking to try! MEIGHAN15
The new Ben Rector album brought me to tears in the car. He has such a way of making you feel so grateful to simply be living.
Also I’ve been loving the new season of Normal Gossip; if you need a podcast for a car ride, my husband and I highly recommend. It’s so silly and the host is a great story teller!

I made sweet potato black bean tacos on Thursday night from Weeknight Vegetarians (
). They are so easy and so delicious! Perfect weeknight meal, you literally just need to open a can and dice a potato and you’re basically done.

I’m still thinking about this slip from Tibi, but honestly I don’t even wear the black slip dress I own, so I cannot justify one in green
My sister is searching for a black, casual summer dress. I sent her the classic Delta dress from Solid & Striped, which I own and love. And then this shoulder tie smocked cotton dress from the Tory Burch sale (also in their sale is this navy dress which is in my cart, and this yellow dress which is perfect for a summer wedding and if I could wear zippers right now would be mine)

Nuuly has some fantastic maternity options for rent. 10/10 experience with them when I was pregnant.
Omg! What an honor! The red/yellow combo looks soooo cute on you!
