This past week, I was in the office navigating everything from 90 degree sun to 50 degree rain, all in the span of 5 days. My closet somehow continues to straddle spring and summer, and yet my bottoms options continue to shrink each week. A fun challenge to solve right?
My mom mentioned that it might be helpful to figure out a better uniform for dressing the bump - the longer we get into the third trimester, the harder it’s going to get. And uniforms make everything easier, as the girls over on
covered this morning!!! So we will go on that journey together, perhaps?Let’s see what we left the house in…
Monday 6/9

Sunday night game plan: June gloom is still here. We are expecting temps in the 60s tomorrow, so it’s going to be a pants day. Those trusty J.Crew kick flares call my name, always nice to know they will fit in the morning no matter what :)
Monday morning: I could not fall asleep last night until I caved and turned the AC on at midnight, so I am groggy rolling out of bed. I need an outfit that works for my office plus a client desk visit at the EOD. Starting with navy knit pants, I grab a new-to-me short sleeve cashmere sweater from eBay. White shoes and silver earrings let the yellow sweater play the main character.
Short story: In thinking about my summer office uniform, I was coveting this baby blue short sleeve sweater from J.Crew. But, at $178 it felt expensive for me right now. So, I went to eBay and found a literal treasure trove of discounted cashmere sweaters. For $40, I got this fun-colored, 100% cashmere sweater and it scratched the same itch. If anyone is interested, I could put a round-up next week of some other second-hand options I loved but didn’t buy for myself!?
Tuesday 6/10
Monday night game plan: WFH tomorrow because I have an appointment in the morning. No need for laying anything out.
Tuesday morning: went to my appointment in leggings and a t-shirt, and then spent the rest of the day in the Hatch overalls I’m renting. Nothing exciting here, which is to be expected on a work from home day lately.
Wednesday 6/11
Tuesday night game plan: the heat is coming quick and strong these next 3 days! Highs in the 80s means I am going to be sweaty but the office is going to be a fridge. I’m going to wear a dress or skirt depending on my mood.
Wednesday morning: transparently, yesterday sucked. As anticipated, I am in no mood to think hard on my outfit. Enter a 1 part outfit formula from Hill House. I grab a nap dress and some sneakers, because I have sciatic nerve pain now. Luckily I have no client on-sites and a fun team lunch to break up the day. Some days are survival > fashion, and that’s ay-okay with me.
Thursday 6/12
Wednesday night game plan: closing in on 90 tomorrow! It’s been a tough few days of wake ups, so I pre-plan everything I need for tomorrow in the office. I lay out a brown + white floral midi skirt my mom is loaning me, a brown top from Mango, my Target sandals and some fun gold earrings.
Thursday morning: I easily put everything I laid out yesterday on my body and then have to deal with my hair, which is a disaster. Any tips on how to be better about blow drying before I go to bed? Thus, we pull back into a bun, and head out the door.
Friday 6/13

Thursday night game plan: going into the office tomorrow and the temps are dropping back down. I am renting this Tibi skirt and haven’t worn it much, so I am going to try to incorporate it tomorrow.
Friday morning: Starting with the purple skirt, I try a few different tops before settling on a grey cashmere t-shirt from Calypso. It is also a new secondhand purchase, costing me $27 for 100% cashmere. WIN! I am recording a webinar at work today, so I need something a little more interesting for my face frame. I pick out this blue beaded necklace from Sezane and silver earrings from J.Crew. I gotta say, having a Ring 3 color in my closet makes me understand the Ring 3 theory a bit more - I love all of this together!
Saturday 6/14 + Sunday 6/15
My husband, Aidan, and I drive out to the North Fork of Long Island in the rain. I wore a grey sweatsuit p much all day Saturday before changing into my PJ set upon arrival.
On Sunday, I asked nicely for some photos of me and the bump while my jawline is still present. I will say, the final results are above and beyond my expectations. I made Aidan a Pinterest board of the vibe I was hoping to have (read: low key, very casual) and he really delivered. He also did it with a smile on his face, the whole time, which made me feel so good about myself. Next Father’s Day, I am so excited for it to be all about him :) For the photos I wore vintage denim sourced by my sister and a white tee, COS denim and a vintage denim shirt also sourced by my sister, and then aerie gingham shorts and a striped tee from J.Crew.

Wishlist Items?!
I was talking to a few friends and realized that I was having itchy fingers this week. Not sure what it was, but I wanted to buy a lot of random stuff? I blame being too online while I was waiting at my appointments. Anyways, I am not adding anything to my wishlist this week. Tory stays put though, as it has for 3 weeks in a row.
But, I did grab these cutie sandals from the J.Crew outlet in Long Island, originally $80 I got them for $20. My husband got this sweater-polo too, which made me proud reading
’s piece this morning - he has at least 1 thing on the chic man list for summer !!!

I am obsessed with the nap dress + sneaker combo on you. But then I realized that all your outfits in dresses/skirts catch my eye which is interesting (to me) because I don't wear hardly any dresses/skirts! Brain, what are you trying to tell me?! Probably that I want to be able to pull it off as well as you do. You look amazing.
You are pulling off such chic maternity looks!! And oh my goodness, I love your maternity pics - and they’re even more special since they’re taken by your husband!
