We’re back with another week of office looks! I am feeling extra inspired since I saw some great office outfits in my feed this week, shoutout to
showing us 4 ways to wear a blazer and each being perfection!!!This week was a BUSY one. I went to see clients 3/4 days I was in the office, so I was flitting all over New York City. I decided I might need a bit of a sleeker bag for those days, since my every day work bag is a bulky catch all. I should pare down for the days I’ll be on-site I think.
Anyways! This week has 1 outfit I didn’t like by the end of the day and 1 morning tornado meltdown sooo
Let’s see what we left the house in…
Monday
Sunday night game plan: High of 50!!! A February dream!!!! I am going to wear flats without socks and no one can stop me.
Monday morning: Wake up and start with flowy black Zara pants and a grey cardigan, but it’s too casual paired together. So I switch out the pants for a more structured trouser. I choose a snakeskin print belt to add some interest, but tbh halfway through the day I don’t love how it looks with my velvet mary janes. They are just completely different vibes I love this belt but the hardware makes it feel a bit more western - which is proving a struggle with my more structured pieces at the office. Would love any cheat codes here.
Tuesday
Monday night game plan: I have 2 onsite client meetings tomorrow so need to look put together, cute and professional. I know what skirt I want to wear and I’m not worried about shoes since I can now bear my ankles, so tomorrow morning will be for finding a top.
Tuesday morning: well I slept through my alarm, not the best start to the day. I grab my skirt and some white mary janes and try a black sweater. Black feels too harsh so I opt for a simple navy cardigan. I’ve worn this outfit before in multiple variations, but changing 1 thing up feels a little new. With my hair blown dry, it looks 10x better anyways. Off we go!
Wednesday
Tuesday night game plan: have paddle clinic tonight until late, so no time for outfit planning.
Wednesday morning: I’m going onsite with another client today and had an outfit planned in my Indyx that I am not feeling now. I decide to default to all black. With black tapered trousers as a base, I try a black top and black blazer, but it feels a little stiff for a trading floor walk. That I put my black sheer button up (over 50% off) that I rarely wear, and try that instead. Super cute and with the tank underneath, it’s appropriate but still interesting. Paired with my zebra print flats for a little pop (similar)!
Thursday

Wednesday night game plan: it’s supposed to rain tomorrow so I’m not sure what I’m going to wear. It depends on what the weather decides to do. But at least it’ll be wear enough I can wear my trench?!
Thursday morning: well, this morning is a shit show. I think I try on 5 outfits before realizing I have 2 minutes to make a final decision. Nothing feels right for the hedge fund meetings I have all afternoon. Instead of trying to pick something new, I wear the “stiffer” outfit from yesterday. No one will notice that I’m wearing the same pants, belt and shoes, even if they did I still look chic. Make the train only because my husband hears my closet panic and starts the car up to drive me. Laughing realizing that this entire outfit is Abercrombie, what a world.
Friday
Thursday night game plan: tomorrow I am working from home and have a ton of meetings. My goal is to get some exercise in at some point so I’ll likely get dressed in my workout clothes.
Friday morning: I do put on workout clothes but I do not workout. Today was BUSY!!! We are going to a little happy hour tonight, so I pull my Agolde jeans. Because I am not really able to wear denim during the week, I try to wear it all weekend long :) paired with a light blue button down, some gold and blue jewelry, a yellow sweater over my shoulder and chocolate brown flats - I am READY to go meet some new peeps.
Thoughts of the week
I said this in the
chat this week, but bearing my ankles has been the thing I didn’t know I needed. Finding the right shoe in the mornings has been DIFFICULT in this cold and now my entire footwear wardrobe feels accessible to me. It’s the little things. Next milestone is stepping away from my wool coats!Gracie Abrams could do anything and I would be obsessed with it but this has been on repeat in my headphones and car
My husband and I started watching Running Point on Netflix and I love it so much. BUT the wardrobe choices are really frustrating to me for Brenda and Kate. Netflix had to know this was going to be a hit, could we not spend a little more time and money on the female characters outfits?!?!
Chef’s Table
Last Sunday we very casually hosted dinner for my parents and our family friends. We had planned to make this Alison Roman recipe for short ribs that we bought on sale, and so they joined us! 10/10 reviews all around, and very easy outside of the 5 hour cook time!
Book Shelf
Still reading (and it’s making me cry): Beartown by Fredrik Backman.
I especially loved this piece by
where she writes about budgeting. I’ve been thinking about this topic a lot since I spoke with Lindsay at and reading about someone else’s experience, especially someone in the tri state area like me, was super interesting and freeing (you’ll get that adjective when you read)!
Wishlist Items?!
I’m looking for a new everyday sunscreen now that the sun is starting to pop back up!!! I usually use the EltaMD but has anyone ever used Dr. Loretta’s? It has excellent reviews and I am thinking about giving it a go.
We just booked a little getaway to Jamaica in April and it’s taking everything in me to not shop the entire Farm Rio website…
I love love love that skirt AND need to know if anyone's ever walked in on you taking photos and if you cared. Also, I swear my office as the exact same bathroom.
I immediately loved the all-black outfits as I am one to do because I adore all-black. But hearing it was all Abercrombie made me laugh because I have heard rumors that A&F forbid production of black clothes in the 90s and aughts. How the times have changed!
Also, the tops of my feet are out today and I'm thinking of you ;)
