Back on a Sunday! What a week it has been, I can’t believe it’s almost MAY! This week I had a big client conference, 2 regular days in the office, and 2 WFH days (1 of which ended in a Western themed Murder Mystery birthday party, yeehaw).
In 2 weeks, COOD will be on the road for my first work trip to Chicago, so I’m already starting to mentally prepare for that packing extravaganza. LMK if you have any tips!
Let’s see what we left the house in…
Monday 4/21
Sunday night game plan: go to bed early with no plan…
Monday morning: I reach for some navy pinstriped pants as a base and decide I want to wear them with my silver slingbacks. I try 8 different tops before realizing I am fully out of time and settle on a very old blue J.Crew button down. This outfit, in hindsight, sucks. But whatever, it’s Monday, only up from here.
Tuesday 4/22
Monday night game plan: tomorrow I have a big client conference at the office. I am assigned to work our booth for 5 hours, and will be the one to welcome our clients upon arrival. I booked a Drybar appointment before work, so that I don’t have to worry about my hair. What I do have to worry about is my outfit. I try on a bunch of dresses tonight before landing on a 4 year old blazer dress from Mango, Aeyde slingbacks, and an Hermes scarf for a pop of color. I lay out everything down to my bra and underwear so I don’t have any issues tomorrow.
Tuesday morning: I get fully dressed and second guess my entire outfit immediately. Dontcha just love when that happens?! I try on a midi skirt + top combo and ask my husband. He fully supports dress number one, and reminds me that just 12 hours ago, I did as well. I take his advice, get dressed once more, and leave for the day.
Wednesday 4/23
Tuesday night game plan: nada because tomorrow I am working from home.
Wednesday morning: midweek WFH because the HVAC guy is coming to the house to check out a leak. I get up at 7 to take a walk around the neighborhood before settling in for work. I wear a tank + shorts set from girlfriend collective and my husband’s old college crew neck. Before my afternoon appointment, I add Bombas crew socks, sunnies + my new TB bag, which feels very Princess Diana and I am into it.
Thursday 4/24
Wednesday night game plan: I actually am going to wear the second outfit I didn’t wear on Tuesday! Nice when a morning panic leads to a second option.
Thursday morning: My mom saw me wearing this skirt a few weeks ago and suggested I add a belt to add definition to the waist. She was 100% right (per usual), it makes a huge difference.
Friday 4/25
Tonight is one of my best friend’s birthday party, and it’s a Murder Mystery with a Wild West theme. My character is some feisty bandit who hates everyone, so I am excited to lean. I go to Target to find a cowboy hat, but when I can’t find one I get silver glitter freckles instead? It is def more music festival than Western but I had a lot of fun wearing them. (Vintage carpenter jeans, old J.Crew tank, Madewell bandana, Madewell snake print belt)
Saturday 4/26 + Sunday 4/27
I have to knock out a long list of errands in the rain this Saturday, so I wear black bike shorts again, an old sweatshirt and sneakers. I proceed to remove wallpaper off of my bathroom walls for 2+ hours in this outfit - non-aesthetic but very versatile lol.
After wearing athletic clothes for errands on Saturday, I want to get dressed on Sunday for a little shopping after I drop my husband off at golf. I wear vintage carpenter jeans that my sister sourced, a Sezane T, old H&M trench, Tory sneaks and my new Tory Burch Romy hobo bag (see below).
Thoughts of the week
After over a week of carrying it, I wanted to give a quick review of the Tory Burch Romy Hobo Bag. I pretty much fell out of my chair when I got the message from the Tory team that they wanted to gift me one of her new Hobo bags, after seeing me wax poetic for weeks about another bag from the line. Though it is not the original one I wanted, I am actually much happier with the size of this one. There are 3 reasons so far why it has become my go-to bag for commuting. 1, the pebbled leather is both beautiful and functional; 2, the strap is adjustable and fits around all of my jackets without slipping; 3, the bag is VERY lightweight, so even when filled with all of my stuff, it is comfortable to carry. My one critique is the 2 studs on the outside of the bag where the inner pocket is attached. To me, they feel avoidable. But other than that, I have really enjoyed carrying it to work and on personal errands, and if you’re in the market, the new Mushroom colorway is totally gorgeous and I kind of wish it had been an option for gifting. Big thank you to the TB team for defining the peak of my Internet career. They did not ask me to post about the gift in exchange but, if you’ve been reading this newsletter for long enough, you know that they are truly my favorite and if nothing else comes from this little newsletter besides them acknowledging my existence, I am happy :):):):):)

In keeping with the above fan-girling, I did pop into the Tory store on Greenwich Avenue this afternoon, and tried on this STUNNING BEAUTIFUL GORGEOUS dress. I personally am not in the market for anything like this, but if anyone has a wedding coming up - I did not want to take this off.
Also they had a very fun, structured white lace top + skirt that would be very cool for a bridal shower or welcome party. Honestly, I highly recommend going into one of her stores right now - the spring/summer stuff is really fun to look at.
Meighan! SCREAMING at the gorgeous bag (they know a good fan when they read one) AND that incredible dress. It. Is. So. Stunning.
I’m smiling at “He fully supports dress number one, and reminds me that just 12 hours ago, I did as well. I take his advice.” This is why we need the practical logic of husbands sometimes. And the emotion of girlfriends other times.
I love the red sneakers with the trench coat! So striking! I also appreciate the review of the bag!!! <3 What a great brand gift!
I wore glitter freckles to the Eras Tour concert and it was SO fun. I put them on my son for "glitter day" and they stayed on his cute little face for TEN DAYS. It was amazing.
