We are back!! This week is a funny one. I had a small procedure on Monday and as a result I was home for 3 days and then in the office for 2. Monday I wore stretchy navy linen pants and a grey sweatshirt and sneakers to the appointment, and then I wore pajamas the rest of the day. Needless to say, I was not in the mood for a photo that day! Now let’s see what else we left the house in :)
Tuesday:
Monday night game plan: none
Tuesday morning: My doctor tells me I must rest but I cannot lay in my bed the whole day. Conflicting??!? So I wake up and decide I will go vote on my day off. I wore this dress which is so much better in person than online + my TB sneaks + a burgundy bag. Later in the day I put on shorts and a huge t-shirt, so it was nice to at least feel a little put together in the morning.
Wednesday:
Tuesday night game plan: none needed
Wednesday morning: I worked from home today because I am still not allowed to commute. This is the result. I look frumpy, but I was cold and so even though originally I had a button up on I switched to this sweater. I didn’t leave the house all day but at least looked cute on Zoom with a bright color!
Thursday:
Wednesday night game plan: I will wear my comfiest Levi’s 501s tomorrow. They are comfortable and stretchy and that is what I need to get myself through the day at the office.
Thursday morning: At first I put on my denim with a black turtleneck and blazer but I kind of feel like Steve Jobs. I realize that I like the look without the blazer, but I need the blazer to dress up the denim. So I opt for a black T underneath and add some gold jewelry and my thrifted loafers. I was told to not wear jeans to work that afternoon, so that tells you that I got too close to the business casual sun!
Friday:
Thursday night game plan: my husband and I get home from the city after 11 PM so I am half asleep and cannot even try to lay something out. But we are back in the office tomorrow so I’ll figure something out.
Friday morning: today calls for another nap dress. You will see this recurring theme now that I own 3. Not sorry! I need to make it appropriate for the 40 degree morning so I add a black cashmere sweater (my GOAT) and black ballet flats. Top the look off with my black velvet headband which cures any bad hair day and I am happy to walk out the door in this on a Friday.
Some quick things!
I finished Very Bad Company by Emma Rosenblum this week and it was not great. Don’t recommend as a good use of your time. So now I’m onto The Winner by Teddy Wayne and I’ll let you know what I think.
I started using this lip balm/gloss situation from EADEM and I actually love it. It’s not sticky somehow? And apparently it also exfoliates your lips too which is key in winter. Let’s be honest though the silver packaging sells me.
- posted in her subscriber chat about dressing for a corporate environment and the results were so interesting to me! I am obviously passionate about this subject as I sit in a client facing role at a financial technology company, straddling more conservative and tech dress code. Irene puts together some great combinations that are more high fashion than my own, so I highly recommend checking her out.
My men’s everlane sweater is 30% off 👀👀👀👀 just sayyiinnnggg (I got it in navy hehe)
- inspired me to put up some Halloween decor ahead of next week! I kept it simple but it’s given me a lot of joy, which is exactly what she said would happen 🤗
Okay! Have a great weekend everyone! BYE!
I can’t believe they told you no jeans! You look so chic!
Tuesday’s outfit is straight FIRE!! The dress with the sneakers, it’s so good.
PS- I am sorry about the rest but not in a bed?!
