Hello hello beautiful people! Welcome back to another week in the office. This week I’m in 5 days, yikes. But it’s GORGEOUS outside and that makes things 100 times better.
On the agenda this week is: 5 office days, 1 with a client visit. Nothing crazy so let’s see what we leave the house in!
Monday:
Sunday night game plan: zzzzzzzzz
Monday morning: I wake up with 0 inkling of what to wear. It’s a wonderful low of 60/high of 80 and because I am sleepy I search for a dress. This Tory Burch number is a forever piece that I got during a sale in COVID. It’s comfortable, appropriate for many occasions and matches everything I own. I put it on with my green velvet slippers and march off to the train.
I can never buy Tory full price, but she fits into my style so well that I watch her sales like a hawk. I am obsessing over this dress and this dress for fall/winter office options… what do we think?
Tuesday:
Monday night game plan: nothing, again, oops.
Tuesday morning: I wake up once again with no idea what to wear! It’s a client visit day so I start putting on pants when my husband tells me it’s going to be 80 degrees today. I pivot to another dress, gotta get these wears in while I still can right?! You’ve seen this one before, but I pair it with some red loafers for a fun little pop. They’re also like clouds on my feet, which is great for my big commute downtown later today.
Wednesday:
Tuesday night game plan: none!!!! I am laughing because last week Kelly said she’s amazed at my ability to plan my outfits and this week I am 0/3 so far.
Wednesday morning: This morning is a tough one. I start with a maxi skirt, switch to jeans, and then end on cream trousers. I then try 2 button downs 3 times each, before realizing I really do NOT have time for this waffling. I think of
and I reach for my black long sleeve, cannot find it and settle for a short sleeve. With a black belt and black loafers, this is simple and chic. I run out the door.
Thursday:
Wednesday night game plan: I get in bed at 8:30 PM to watch Masterchef and fall asleep. Luckily I already know in my head what I want to wear tomorrow, directly stemming from the fact my office has been an ice box.
Thursday morning: wake up and slick back my hair. I am replicating an exact outfit from my honeymoon down to the hairstyle 😂 white hill house nap skirt which is a wardrobe HERO, white t, grey cashmere sweater and a ton of chunky gold jewelry. I wear my sambas and pack my aeyde kitten heels since my husband and I are going on a date tonight after work. I am going to be so warm at work, it’s dreamy.
Friday:
Thursday night game plan: I’ve decided that tomorrow I’m going to go to the Y to swim before work. This means I will get out of bed at 5 AM, brush my teeth and walk straight out of the door. I pack my bag with makeup and skincare, and then my outfit for a Friday in the office: white jeans, favorite white T, grey blazer, black flats and a cheetah print belt (on sale, another wardrobe hero). Nice and easy for an 80 degree day ahead!
Friday: all of the above has been done, so I get dressed in the Y locker room after my swim and head to work. Sometimes it’s nice to not be able to change my mind from what I picked the day before.
Happy weekend everyone!!! I am trying to do Indyx before/while we move, and while I haven’t logged many clothes yet, I did take the style quiz. It defined my style as classic (leading), minimalist (supporting) and androgynous (complementary). My edits? MiDimalist a la my girl
and would slice androgynous with /sporty. Other than that, it felt pretty spot on. Photographing all of these outfits each week, I’ve tried to find some commonality but I kind of like that there isn’t always a through line. Maybe you see one? Someone wrote (I can’t remember who) about how we shouldn’t actually be labeling and boxing ourselves in because sometimes we are in a different mood which leads to different outfits! I felt that!Anyways - I’ve been working on a writing piece about wedding photos and critiquing my body and when I get the chance to type it outside of my notes app, it’ll grace your inboxes :) BYE!!!
