How is it already September!?! There is a chill in the air here in New England and I kind of love it. My closet isn’t really ready for the in-between yet, but we are moving soon so for now I’m just going to be a mess. C’est la vie!
The agenda for this week is: 1 day painting the house, 3 days in the office w/ 1 client visit, and 1 WFH Friday for a very special 30th birthday celebration!
Let’s see what we leave the house in!
Monday:
Here is a picture of what I wore every day this entire Labor Day weekend. We painted our house for 9 hours every day, so vintage overalls were the obvious choice.
requested a house tour once we are moved in, anyone else?!
Tuesday:
Monday night game plan: I fall asleep looking at Pinterest photos because my brain isn’t functioning for 55 degree outfits just yet. I find this cute one I want to try and go to sleep.
Tuesday morning: well, I am late. I grab my trousers, white button down and scarf (dupe), and try to pick a sweater that fits the vibe of my inspo photo. I should’ve done this last night. I start with a pink cardigan but it feels too chunky for this weather; and then remember this cashmere hand-me-down number. Feels good enough?
Anything missing? In hindsight, I wish I wore my brown loafers with this. The black is a little stark. Also, I was overdressed and looked silly in this thick of a sweater. It is not fall yet!!! My brain had a hiccup!!!
Wednesday:
Tuesday night game plan: my own nap dress came from Poshmark tonight and I am very excited to wear it! I lay it out with my black ballet flats and a pink sweater.
Wednesday morning: I pop the dress on and realize that I should’ve looked for a size down than this, but it fits enough that I’m not swimming in it. I put on my pink sweater but it looks off. Instead I swap for a cropped black cardigan that makes the dress look like a skirt when it’s buttoned up. Perfect redemption for way too much bulk yesterday.
Anything missing? A better fitting dress size, but that’s the risk you take with Posh!
Thursday:
Wednesday night game plan: I stay up pretty late watching the US Open with my mom, so don’t have time to shower or plan anything outfit for tomorrow. While I drift off, I think of one combo to try, given it’s going to be a little warmer tomorrow.
Thursday morning: I wake up and finalize my outfit plan in the shower. I want to wear my mens navy blazer as my layer, so I think I’m going to try a pair of blue trousers and a white T with it. When that doesn’t work at all, I pivot to my trusty green linen pants and a navy striped t. This outfit feels very me but also very Brooklyn mom? Either way I am very happy leaving the house.
Anything missing? I would’ve loved a brown ballet flat again……… they keep coming up as my gap.
Friday:
Big weekend ahead: it’s my husband’s best friend’s 30th birthday and we are in Massachusetts with a big group to celebrate! Wedding season may be slowing down but birthday season is just kicking off! There is a packed agenda tonight: happy hour, lobster bake, dive bar & a dance floor!! Many outfit options will be needed, and this is what I packed as a little capsule to mix and match:
1 pair of vintage men’s Levi’s, 1 pair of straight leg jeans & 1 pair of white linen pants
White tee and navy tee, black strapless top and a scarf for a top option as well
Grey cashmere sweater and navy cardigan
White maxi dress, black maxi dress and my fish dress just in case :)
Two girlfriend collective workout sets in black and navy
Sambas, black thong kitten heel sandals and my ancient greeks
Staud bag (similar here on TRR), Sezane necklace, Sutton Stones gold necklace
Have a wonderful weekend hopefully not in the office!!!!!! Love ya BYE!
I will continue to hold the torch for a home tour!
I love so many of the outfits you put together and remain impressed that you plan your outfit the night before (that would do me some good). The scarf outfit was SO good, revisit that one when it’s cooler! I also really like the outfit with the men’s blazer/green pants. I think it’s the color combo, or maybe the stripes? Whatever it is, I love it.
